Launch Tennessee

LaunchTN is a public-private partnership focused on supporting the development of high-growth companies in Tennessee.  They are helping make Tennessee the number one place in the Southeast to start and grow a company.  

Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL)
Managed by UT-Battelle, a partnership between the University of Tennessee and Battelle Memorial Institute, Oak Ridge National Laboratory is the largest US Department of Energy science and energy laboratory, conducting basic and applied research to deliver transformative solutions to compelling problems in energy and security.

Tennessee Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation

TLSAMP is a collaborative alliance across six colleges and universities in the state of Tennessee to broaden participation in higher education and significantly increase the number of underrepresented minority students statewide. 

Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU)

ORAU manages higher education and post-doctoral training collaborations across more than 100 U.S. universities.  The Science Education division of ORAU is focused on developing and delivering programs that encourage participation in STEM learning and support students and teachers working in STEM fields.

Tennessee Valley Authority

The Tennessee Valley Authority provides electricity for 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states.  TVA also provides flood control, navigation and land management for the Tennessee River system and assists utilities and state and local governments with economic development.  

Eastman Chemical Company

Founded in Kingsport, TN in 1920, Eastman is a global speciality chemical company that produces a broad range of products found in items people use every day.  Eastman serves customers in approximately 100 counties, and with headquarters still in Kingsport, employs 15,000 people around the world.  

Hemlock Semiconductor 
More than a half-century of experience and know-how in the development, production and global commercialization of polycrystalline silicon made Hemlock Semiconductor a committed, reliable and proven supplier for the semiconductor and photovoltaics business.

Wacker Chemie
Wacker is one of the world's market leaders in the production of polysilicon, a materials that is key for advanced applications in solar energy, photovoltaics, and semiconductors.  They have invested more than $2.4B in the Charleston, TN manufacturing plant, which has an annual polysilicon production capacity of 20,000 tons.  

West Tennessee Solar Farm

The West Tennessee Solar Farm is comprised of 22,000 fixed photovoltaic panels with an output capacity of 5 MW, making it one of the largest solar-generating facilities in the Southeast. Located off of Interstate 40 midway between Memphis and Jackson, it generates enough power for 400 houses, demonstrates the effectiveness of large-scale solar in Tennessee, and serves to educate the general public about solar energy, including the past, present and future of solar within the state.
